Countless plants withered.
But I don't look back. If I do, I won't be able to keep my sanity...
My name is Suzuki and I've been gardening as a hobby for 14 years.
This is a section that introduces only plants that we have actually grown.
This time we will introduce Begonia U309 , a plant that captivates people with its eerie nature.
What kind of plant is Begonia U309?
A rhizomatous begonia found in Malaysia.
"U" stands for unidentified, meaning "unidentified."
It has not yet been decided which category it belongs to.
Of course, other numbers exist.
The numbers are assigned by the American Begonia Society.
Tell me a lie...
If grown properly, the number of leaves will increase and each leaf will be larger than a human face.
When I look at photos from overseas, I am amazed at their size.
Once it gets to that size, there's no place to put it...
Many aroid plants also have huge leaves, so you should be careful when purchasing them.
The difficulties of begonias
They hate dryness and cold, so it is difficult for an average household to keep them in good condition.
If you are used to growing begonias, they may be easy to grow, but they require much more care than ficus and other plants.
Even though they are begonias, too much humidity is not good. They will rot from the roots and, in the worst case scenario, will die.
In my house, the plants seem to do better when watered from the bottom rather than from above.
