Countless plants withered.
But I don't look back. If I do, I won't be able to keep my sanity...
My name is Suzuki and I've been gardening as a hobby for 14 years.
This is a section that introduces only plants that we have actually grown.
This time we will introduce Agave Milky White, which has an eye-catching white color.
What kind of plant is Agave Milky White?
It is said that it was discovered in the Botanical Gardens of the University of Science in Pune, India.
There is little information about this agave in Japanese.
It is often called Woodrowii overseas.
It is characterized by multiple layers of thin white leaves.
Like other agaves, it loves a dry, light-filled environment.
Be sure to visit "Sakuyakonohanakan"
I first encountered Milky White at Sakuyakonohanakan in Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park in Osaka.
A plant that stands out in the greenhouse area with its white brilliance.
Thanks to careful care, the plant has many leaves and is well worth seeing.
It would be a great honor to grow agaves like that.
Beware of the cold
Agave plants are sensitive to cold, so they should not be grown outdoors.
We spend the winter in an unheated greenhouse, but indoors with LED is the safest option.
Plant Gachimeter
Finally, I'll give "Agave Milky White" a score based on my very personal opinion.
-Ease of growing: 15 points. Pay attention to temperature and light intensity.
-Ease of training: 14 points. Difficulty in not reducing the number of leaves.
-Growth rate: 16 points, about the same as other agaves.
・Suitability for Osaka: 16 points Only winter is scary.
・Likeness level: 20 points I liked him from the moment we met.
Total score: 81 points
That's all, Editor-in-Chief.
