《Placement》
Phalaenopsis orchids generally flower from spring to early summer. They are best grown indoors in a warm location with sunlight filtering through lace. They prefer high temperatures and humidity, so they can be grown in natural conditions from spring to autumn, and in winter in a warm room where the temperature is kept above 10°C.

Please be careful not to expose the Phalaenopsis orchid to the hot air from a heater.
Avoid direct sunlight, and it is best to keep it shaded at 60% in summer (similar to sunlight through lace) and 30% in winter (similar to sunlight through glass).

Watering
The basic rule is to water sparingly. Once the sphagnum moss covering the orchid has dried all the way through, water it generously in the morning on a sunny day until water starts to flow out the bottom of the pot (if the pot has holes in the bottom), and the orchid will be happy.

Be sure to discard any water that has accumulated in the saucer or pot cover. Plants generally do not do well if they are underwatered, but overwatering is more likely to damage them. Avoid watering the sphagnum moss while its surface is still wet.

They can absorb moisture from the water vapor in the air, so it is better to water sparingly and keep the soil slightly dry than to water too much.

Spring and Autumn
Phalaenopsis orchids will be happy if you mist them with water about once a week in the summer, in the morning and evening on hot days.

■ Winter
The recommended amount is once every two weeks. However, the frequency and amount may change depending on the humidity and sunlight, so please use this as a guideline only.

The easiest way to tell if a Phalaenopsis orchid is healthy is to look at its leaves; they are dark green and firm. If the leaves start to lose color or wrinkle, it's a sign that they're not getting enough water or sunlight.
