Rather than being shade-tolerant, it prefers partial shade and sun. With little sunlight, the branches become thinner and the leaves grow more loosely. If you place it near a window, it is best to block out the light with lace curtains or similar from June to September. Once the weather gets cooler, leave the shade unblocked and expose it to full sun.
From spring onwards, it is okay to keep it outside in a place where it will get rain.

If you have kept it outside, bring it in when the temperature drops in late autumn. It will lose its leaves when exposed to the cold, but this does not mean it has died, so just keep an eye on it.
In winter, it is safer to keep it a little away from a window even when indoors. If you feel that there is not enough light, you can use a grow light for plants to provide additional light.

Watering
Water thoroughly when the soil is dry. The growing season is from April to October when the temperature rises.
This plant needs water, so make sure it doesn't run out of water, especially during the growing season.
Reduce watering from autumn onwards, and avoid watering during the dormant period when the plant loses its leaves.
