How to Grow Houseplants

[Scientific name] Schefflera arboricola cv. Compacta
[Family name] Araliaceae
[Genus name] Schefflera
[Country of Origin] Taiwan, etc.
[Flower language] "honesty" etc.
[How to grow]
▼Placement
It tolerates the shade and can be placed anywhere. It is also somewhat cold-tolerant among houseplants.
However, if there is not enough light, the color will not come out and the leaves and branches will look weak. Basically, you should grow it in a place where the leaves can get sunlight.
Direct sunlight on hot, sunny days from late June to mid-September may cause leaf scorch. Use lace curtains or a shade net, or move the plant to a semi-shaded location.

▼Watering
Except in winter, water thoroughly when the soil dries out. When the temperature approaches 10°C, growth slows down and the soil also dries more slowly. During cold seasons, it is okay to keep the soil a little dry rather than overwatering it and causing root rot.

▼Other points
This plant has many leaves. If the air circulation is poor, it will be prone to pests such as spider mites and scale insects. Plants will be happy if you pay attention to the air circulation in the room.
When your plants are small, instead of watering them, occasionally give them a shower in the kitchen or bathroom to remove insects and dust, helping to keep them healthy.

▼Fertilizer
Schefflera grows vigorously and will grow without fertilizer. If fertilizing, fertilize from April to July and from September to October. It is safer not to fertilize during cold periods when the average temperature is below 20°C or during extremely hot periods when the average temperature exceeds 35°C.
