《Placement》
As long as you pay attention to sunlight and ventilation, you'll be fine.
It generally prefers sunny locations, but can tolerate some shade.
It is also cold-resistant, and can apparently be grown outdoors up to the Tohoku region.

If you are taking it out of the pot and planting it in the garden, choose a location keeping in mind that it will grow large.
It will grow to over 10m, so plant it knowing that pruning will definitely be necessary.

Watering
Water only after the surface of the soil has dried completely. You don't need to worry about watering it too much throughout the year, and it will not die.

"fertilizer"
Fertilize twice a year, in February and August. Since bay laurel can be used as an herb in cooking and in baths, we recommend using natural fertilizer.
There are also chemical fertilizers that are safe to use on vegetables, so please choose the one that suits you best.

"pruning"
Do this during warm seasons. It tolerates pruning well, so cut off any excess growth to shape it.

オリーブの木の育て方

【管理方法】
《置き場所》
室内に置く場合は陽の当たる、風通しの良い場所で管理をしてください。日光が不足すると枝が細くなり、弱々しい姿になってしまいます。
寒さには比較的強いので、外で管理することも可能です。ただ室内で育てていたオリーブを急に寒さに当ててしまうと枯れる原因になります。
室内から外へ移動する場合は、日中だけ外に出し、夜は室内へ取り入れるなどして徐々に気温の変化にならしてからにしましょう。

《水やり》
土の表面がしっかりと乾いてから水やりを行います。気温が高く土の渇きが早い時期は頻度を多く、気温が低い時期になったら土の状態を確認しながら水やりの回数を減らしましょう。

《肥料》
成長期に入る3月、花が咲く前の6月に緩効性の肥料を与えます。もしたくさん実をつけるようなことがあれば、実が落ちた後の9月にも与えましょう。
1本で実がなるオリーブもありますが、基本的には2種類以上オリーブを植えないと実がつきにくい特徴を持っています。
