▼Placement
As its scientific name suggests, it is a "hibiscus," so it should generally be grown in a sunny environment. If it does not get enough sunlight, it will become elongated and have fewer leaves. As it is a tropical plant, it can withstand heat. However, direct sunlight in summer can burn the leaves. If you move it from indoors to outdoors, gradually get it used to the sun by leaving it outside only in the morning. If it seems too hot, move it to partial shade or a place that gets morning sun and observe the situation.
It is very sensitive to cold and will lose its leaves if it gets too cold. It is best to keep the temperature around 15°C. During the winter, even if you keep it by a window during the day, move it to a warmer place in the room at night or on cold days.

▼Watering
They love water. From April to October, when the temperature reaches around 25°C, they will rapidly absorb water. From May to early September, it is fine to water them just before the soil dries out. However, if the soil retains water well, there is a risk of root rot, so adjust the amount of water as needed depending on the condition of the soil.
If the plant does not get enough water, the leaves will turn yellow and fall off fairly quickly. Although it is not recommended, it is a good idea to check this condition once to determine the limit of dehydration.
In winter, when growth stops, water sparingly. Water only after the soil in the pot has dried thoroughly.

▼Fertilizer
Either slow-release or liquid fertilizer is fine. Apply from May to September. Avoid applying in August when temperatures approach 35°C, as this can damage the roots. When you first start applying fertilizer, dilute it more than the dilution rate recommended by the manufacturer, and if it seems to be okay, gradually increase the concentration. It's also fine to apply it at a diluted rate more frequently.

The leaves turn yellow and fall off due to a drop in temperature or lack of water. If you take immediate action, the plant will recover quickly because it grows vigorously. The changes are easy to notice, making this a great plant to learn the basics of plant growing.
