Although it is a shade-tolerant houseplant, insufficient sunlight will cause the leaves to fall off. If you keep it indoors, keep it in a soft, sunny, well-ventilated place.
The sun is strong in the summer, so avoid exposing it to direct sunlight, as this can cause the leaves to burn. Either expose it to sunlight through a lace curtain, or grow it a little away from a window.
Once the weather warms up, you can keep it outside from spring to autumn.

In winter, it is possible to survive outdoors in areas west of Kanto where temperatures do not drop below freezing, but it is generally safest to keep it in a place where the temperature can be maintained at 10°C or above.
Since the entrance is also a place where outside air can easily enter, it is recommended to move it to the living room or somewhere else.

Watering
When the surface of the soil starts to dry, water it until water comes out from the bottom of the pot. The frequency of watering will vary depending on the season and environment, so if you change the location, we recommend observing how long it takes for the soil to dry after watering.
Growth slows down significantly in winter, and the plant does not absorb water as quickly. Be careful of root rot, and reduce the frequency of watering.

If you want to grow it quickly, fertilize it from May to October during its growing season. You can use either liquid fertilizer or slow-release fertilizer. Fertilize it approximately every week to 10 days. Since it is a hardy houseplant, it will do fine without fertilizer.
In the summer, houseplants can suffer from heat exhaustion, so it is best to refrain from fertilizing them when the temperature is around 35°C.
