Countless plants withered.
But I don't look back. If I do, I won't be able to keep my sanity...
My name is Suzuki and I've been gardening as a hobby for 14 years.
This is a section that introduces only plants that we have actually grown.
This time we will introduce Aloe Jukunda Nishiki, which is native to South Africa and Somalia.
What kind of plant is Aloe vera?
To be honest, I don't know where the variegated "Nishiki" variety originated.
"Jukunda" itself originated in Somalia, in eastern Africa.
Most aloe plants are native to Africa.
This is unrelated, but the beaches in Africa are really beautiful.
I'd like to go if it's safe.
Jukunda is a small aloe that grows in clumps.
It doesn't get too tall so it doesn't take up much space, which is great!
The pattern of the spots is not uniform, and some individuals may have almost no color.
On the other hand, sometimes the whole thing turns yellow.
The glossy, reptile-like leaves and yellow color go perfectly together!
It feels like you're looking at an unknown life form.
Sometimes I sulk
I think it's a pretty tough plant.
It is disease-free and can withstand both heat and cold.
In harsh environments, the plant may show some stress coloring, but it will not die.
The only thing that's not good is giving them too much water.
I also dislike high humidity.
The leaves become soggy and melt.
Even if you drain it a little, it won't wrinkle immediately.
It's fine to water it only after the soil has dried thoroughly.
Mr Jukunda is a tough man.
It has nothing to do with popularity
Good color.
Stable spots.
It packs up compactly.
Easy to grow.
Less likely to get sick.
It's very good, but not very popular.
Do people just not like shiny leaves?
There has been an increase in plant-related events recently, so be sure to look for them.
Once you see it in person, you'll be hooked!
