As spring gradually makes its presence felt, many of us begin to seek out its signs. How are you all doing?
I'm M, in charge of public relations.
In our previous article, I shared a behind-the-scenes look at our Mother's Day catalog photoshoot.
This time, as a continuation, we interviewed our executive floral designer.
With extensive experience creating wedding decorations for five-star hotels in Tokyo and Kyoto, her refined sensibilities have guided this year's Mother's Day gifts.
The theme is "Messengers Weaving Emotions."
With the sender's feelings as the top priority, the designs incorporate "timeless beauty" cultivated through her wedding work.
We'll show you how this year's lineup was shaped, including the elegant color combinations that effectively use greenery and the meticulous attention to detail in combining high-quality materials.

This year's theme is "Messengers Weaving Emotions"
──Please tell us about the theme for this year's Mother's Day gifts.
While the joy of the recipient is important, we prioritized the sender's feelings.
Giving flowers is about giving "emotions" a tangible form.
It is one of the most beautiful forms of communication, unchanged since ancient times.
As "messengers" bearing this important role, we have pursued the "quality" of all aspects of our products, from the flowers themselves to the arrangements and vase selections, all beyond the design.
We want to responsibly deliver high-quality flowers that live up to the sincere feelings of the sender.
With that in mind, we created this year's lineup.
──Where did the inspiration for the design come from?
It came from the wedding scenes I work with every day.
The dignified tension that permeates a wedding, a milestone in life, and the warm atmosphere flowing among family members.
I wanted to incorporate both of these into Mother's Day gifts.
Designs that aren't eccentric, but rather make everyone genuinely feel, "Oh, how beautiful."
And since they also need to be strong enough to withstand shipping, we went through a lot of trial and error to achieve both.

Wedding experience brings "timeless beauty" to life
──How has your experience in the wedding industry been utilized in Mother's Day gifts?
Every day, I assist many couples at the start of their new lives through weddings at luxury hotels.
In weddings, many clients ultimately trust and entrust me with their decisions, saying, "I'll leave it to the professional." The responsibility is immense.
In that context, I have pursued "timeless beauty" by adding a touch of trend to seasonal flowers that are best for the couple, so that when they look back at photos years later, they can still feel the brilliance of that time.
That experience is directly applied to creating Mother's Day products.
The existence of flowers and the act of giving flowers are beautiful "things" and "actions" that remain unchanged through the ages, and I believe that both wedding flowers and Mother's Day flowers are precious "flowers" filled with emotion.
──What aspects did you particularly focus on?
"Color combinations" and "elegance." It's also my style, but this time I particularly focused on effectively using greenery.
Adding green to high-quality seasonal flowers further enhances their beauty, resulting in a natural yet elegant finish.
Instead of surprising with unusual designs, we meticulously combine high-quality materials.
That is something I value in decorating luxury hotels.

──What was the most exciting moment for you in shaping this lineup?
It's the moment when I select a single correct answer from an "inspiration board" filled with keywords and material fragments in my mind, and then actually bring it to life.
Even if it looks perfect on the board, when I actually hold the flowers, I notice subtle nuances and areas for improvement that don't come across in photos.
I really enjoy the painstaking process of discussing ideas with the planning team, making repeated revisions, and fine-tuning.
Products created by a relay of experts
──What do you feel is our company's unique characteristic?
Our uniqueness lies in being a "group of experts."
Mother's Day products cannot be completed with just my design.
We have procurement specialists who are "flower material professionals," identifying high-quality flower materials and coordinating with producers and markets. We also have photographers who capture their beauty and a production team that creates catalogs to convey our message.
Professionals in each field share their knowledge and ideas to create products that meet our standards.
A message to everyone
We are your "messengers who weave emotions."
We hope to help continue the beautiful ancient culture of "sending emotions with flowers" in a way that suits the present age.
May this Mother's Day also be filled with many smiles. We will deliver with all our hearts.
